Masataka Taketsuru studied at Glasgow University and on his return to Japan in 1934, he founded the Nikka distillery. The elegantly packacged whisky is woody and spicy with complexity, flavours of candied peel and cinnamon, plus some peppery brightness. An expensive treat.
